    Who We Are
    Calcoast Laboratories is a full service, independent materials testing laboratory specializing in the analysis and performance testing of products such as paint, coatings, sealants,adhesives, plastics, composite siding, composite roofing, flooring and all other types of construction materials. We also perform drug analysis; certified by the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and hazardous materials analysis; certified by the State of California Department of Health Services. We are certified by the City of Los Angeles for paint, coatings and sealant qualification testing.

    Our personnel are members of the following professional organizations: American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), Federation of Societies for Coatings Technology (FSCT), Golden Gate Society for Coatings Technology (GGSCT), Canadian General Standards Board (CGSB), American Chemical Society (ACS), American Society for Metals (ASM), Society of Plastic Engineers (SPE), National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE), Steel Structures Painting Council (SSPC).

    We currently employ a staff of three PhD chemists, one MS chemist, six BS chemists and three technicians. Our staff has many years of experience in the paint and coatings industry as paint and sealants formulators, research and development chemists, quality control chemists, polymer development chemists, and we are very experienced in failure analysis.
